The Archaeology of Fort Daniel

The archaeology of Fort Daniel is being told by means of the media shows available in the left column as well as year-by-year (a "season') on individual web pages.  To view media shows, click on a photo in the left column and the show should download in Adobe Reader.  If you don't have Adobe, or an updated version on your computer you can download and install it for free at Adobe.com. One of these presentations is a ProShow Gold presentation and will download as an .exe file. These are large files on the order of 25 mgb and may take some time to download.

The year-by-year reports on the archaeological investigations are found on web pages listed on the menu bar.  Please let us know if any of the links are not working (webmaster@thefortdanielfoundation.org).

One of the more exciting finds at the site is this 1776, 2-Real coin minted in Mexico.  Spanish coins were legal tender in the colonies and USA until the mid-1800's.

This wrought nail, of a type being made between 1730 and 1790, was the first artifact found at the site.
